Land
Land, water and air are the basic components of the environment. Land is one of the conditionally renewable resources. The main impacts include soil pollution (local and diffuse), the reduction of organic matter, erosion, construction, soil compaction, salinization, reduction of soil biodiversity. This implies a good knowledge of the physical and chemical characteristics and their monitoring. A team of experts examine the data, draft reports and follow the implementation of the monitoring program with the application of existing legislation.
The aim of monitoring
• Monitoring of land is an integral part of a single information system of the environment state.• It is implemented in order to obtain reliable and quality information on the land.• It defines priorities in environmental management.
Activities and programme of monitoring
• Reporting on the state of land• participation in preparation of the report on the state of the environment,• participation in the development of national lists of indicators,• Cooperation with government bodies, municipalities, legal entities with public authorities, international bodies, institutions in designing and implementing projects and programs of environmental protection,• participation in the implementation of international treaties and agreements in the areas of environmental protection with Montenegro as their party, in the part related to reporting based on commitments,• participation in projects and programs in the field of environmental protection to be conducted on the basis of international treaties, under the authority of the Ministry of Physical Planning and Environment,• ensuring the conditions for access to information about the environment.
